Unwanted Tool Bar Removal

by Southern_Lady957 / May 28, 2004 10:10 PM PDT

A toolbar has appeared on my computer, it happened when my daughter was using the computer and of course I get the "I don't know Mom!" answer from her. I have searched and search with no luck. I am also getting porn pop-ups. I've had this new computer 4 months and never had pop-ups until I got home Thursday night. I feel like an idiot not being able to find the culprit, but I don't know where else to turn. Can anyone help? It would be greatly appreciated.

Don't use that word that starts with the letter "i." You've asked and that's a smart move.

The web article at http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/ not only is a quick education on these new pests, but offers explanations about why the Antivirus doesn't flag such and lists the removal tools.

Thank all of you who helped. I ran AdAware & found 184 infected files. Thank you very much!
