"Unknown server error" and stoppage encountered in download.

by lordT1 / July 19, 2009 8:15 AM PDT

All efforts I have recently made to download a large Corel draw file from CNET using a download manager have proved abortive. The download is always aborted with "Unknown server error" and stoppage after several hours of frustrating, long wait and about 50% of download.

I use Windows XP OS Version 2002 SP3. I also use Firefox Version 3.0.11 and a Download Manager Version 2.5 Build 758, please.

I would appreciate if a solution can be found. Thank you.

that web page link so we can try for ourselves?

Also, what type of internet connection do you have, eg dial-up, broadband?

Using Firefox with its own download manager, on a broadband connection through a router, and it downloaded without problem. It took about 10 minutes.

It seems from your post you are using some other download manager. If that is right, can you try without, and just use Firefox's download manager?

We often see 3rd party download managers failing with CNET downloads.
