TVersity (best DLNA server) - now with the full feature set

by eladm21 / December 1, 2009 1:02 PM PST

To all of you TVersity users: There is now a solution for pausing, FF, resuming play from last time (the blue button), etc. - here on the TVersity forum.

This makes TVersity the best DLNA server IMHO, with maximum codec support, subtitles in any language, internet content stream (anyone said Hulu?) and more.

Highly recommended

I tried this with TVersity and found, with at least one movie, the sound losing sync with picture or else just dropping altogether. This may have been because the server was transcoding the stream and could not keep up.

This extension will work with a number of servers, not just TVersity. Of the few I tried so far, I found the WiselinkPro server the most robust for video replay. Windows MP server just froze or crashed out on the same movie.

It's an excellent, simple solution to the DLNA limitations. I wonder if Samsung might consider including it in newer models.

Tversity is indeed a good server, but i found something even better. It's caled Serviio and it can already do what tversity can't on a 7 series led samsung tv (play mkvs without the need to transcode, embed external subtitles, import album art)
