Try to be a lot more specific about what, how and why you are doing what it is you are attempting.
Unanswered aspects of your query include:
- Exactly what part of an access database are you trying to transfer into an excel worksheet?
- Precisely what method are you employing to attempt this?
- What type(s) of formatting are you hoping to retain?
- What versions of Access and Excel are you using? (different versions have different facilities/behaviour)
As an initial stab in the dark though: in datasheet view, click on the "File" menu and choose the "Export" option. In the "Save as type:" box, select the version of Excel you wish to export to, before clicking the "Save (All)" button.
