TOP 5 weekly issues - December 9, 2013

** AVG AntiVirus for Mac OS **

We have a big announcement today. The AVG AntiVirus for Mac OS was released recently. AVG AntiVirus for Mac is a free protection against Mac, PC and mobile viruses which runs quietly in the background. Your protection is always up-to-date thanks to the automatic updates.

** AVG Toolbar and Secure Search uninstallation **

If you want to completely remove the AVG Secure Search and/or AVG Toolbar and associated browser changes, please follow the How to uninstall AVG Toolbar, homepage and Secure Search from your browser article where you can find detailed instructions.

** AVG Trial expired **

After expiration of AVG Trial version, you will receive the "You have lost your advanced protection!" message (the wording may vary). screenshot

There are two options how to resume AVG protection once the trial expires.

1) You can purchase a license for the advanced protection you were enjoying.
2) You can remove the Trial version and install AVG Free for continued basic protection.

** Installation or upgrade fails **

In some cases installation may fail. Please click Go online to learn about this issue in the AVG installation error dialogue which will show specific instructions, if available.

If instructions are not available yet, please go to the article What to do when AVG installation is failing. We also recommend running the Custom Installation and deselecting all available components to install core AVG components if the installation is still failing. Additional components can be added later if the installation is successful.

** Restart is required repeatedly after upgrade **

AVG may ask you to restart computer repeatedly after upgrading to AVG 2014 Free in some cases. Developers identified source of this issue and already prepared the fix which can be found here.
