** My computer is infected **

Many users are asking us how to proceed when they have a suspicion that their computer became infected. We have summarized general procedure in the What to do when your AVG detects a virus article. In case your AVG is not installed yet we recommend going through the How to install AVG on an infected computer article.

** Error in Google Chrome after installing AVG SafeGuard **

You may encounter an error when running Google Chrome after installation of AVG SafeGuard. The error messages are "Your preferences can not be read. Some features may be unavailable and changes to preferences won't be saved." or "Your profile could not be opened correctly. Some features may be unavailable. Please check that the profile exists and you have permission to read and write its contents.". We've prepared an article with the solution.

** How to activate AVG **

Core AVG products such as AVG AntiVirus and AVG PC TuneUp needs to be activated with the license number. There are few common mistakes which may lead to unsuccessful results. Therefore I'd like to share few tips on how to activate your AVG smoothly and without any complications.

1. Download the latest version of AVG product you've purchased.
2. Make sure you have the latest and complete license number. You can find it in your mailbox or inside the box with installation disc. Go to http://www.avg.com/lost if you can't find it or not sure.
3. Copy&Paste license from your mailbox or transcribe it carefully from the box.
4. Make sure there are no spaces or other characters before or after the license number.
5. Click Activate to start enjoying your AVG.

More detailed instructions can be found in following articles:

** Restoring changes made by AVG PC TuneUp **

Few users reported that the AVG PC TuneUp made unwanted changes to their computers. We would like to inform you that your computer is protected by AVG Rescue Center which creates and manages backups of selected AVG PC TuneUp modules. Please follow the How to restore changes made to your computer by AVG PC TuneUp article if unwanted changes were made.

** Genuine AVG support **

We have received reports from our users that they were tricked by 3rd party company when they were looking for help with their AVG product. General rule of thumb is contacting companies through official support sites only - which is http://www.avg.com/support in this case. We have prepared the How to verify genuine AVG support and avoid scams article which will help you to contact genuine AVG support representatives everytime.

If you have any questions about any of these issues or need help resolving them, please contact AVG customer care experts.
