Perhaps in the new year things will change...But I doubt it.

Is there a point to your list of names, or is it just race
by Ziks511 / December 26, 2012 12:28 PM PST

baiting using information already posted by you in the link to the "4 person crime ring"?

And you wonder why people think you're racially biased and that your posts are racially motivated. Perhaps you should stop screaming so loudly.

Nobody mentioned race except YOU

You have a problem with the perps being named? I just took the names from the paper. Maybe you should write the editors there and tell them your thoughts on the matter.

That's right James

You just wanted to give their first names an Honourable Mention, IF you had their address they would receive a trophy.

Did you see this story?

Oh...I'm interested all right.

I can hear the bailiff reading the charges...NO last name just first names, seems kinda' personal...

You didn't know any of these fine ladies personally did you?

Did they do you wrong somehow?

fine ladies?

You should marry one of them. Leave your wallet on the dresser at night.

No mug shots?
by Steven Haninger / December 27, 2012 5:04 AM PST

I do remember some time back and for a number of reasons showing mug shots of the accused was to be avoided. One reason is that, in too many cases, the people already looked guilty. Another was that racial imbalance was too obvious. Printing names rather than showing faces was considered a better choice. As such, it leaves people to use their imaginations. Sometimes it's better to just tell or show what's truthful.

The classics are "file photos" used in stories

In reply to: No mug shots?

One story I remember in particular was about an inner city school where 80-100 the girls there were pregnant. The "file photo" was of a pregnant white girl. Some investigation revealed there were only about 3 white girls who attended the school and NONE of them were pregnant. I just found it again, it was surprisingly FOX news and they've not changed the picture yet.

Demographics

So, what's the problem with news today? I'd say it's deliberate coverup at times if it's something the editors feel might not fit with their social views as they wish to portray it.

They show a picture of a supposedly pregnant person
by JP Bill / December 27, 2012 11:19 AM PST

YOU look at the skin colour to see if it is a non-white pregnant person?

What would you have posted IF they didn't show any skin?

If one is going to shoplift, why do it at Walmart instead of some place with higher priced goods? Still, people with their finger in a jacket pretending to be a gun to rob a convenience store end up getting more jail time often than some embezzler who stole a thousand times more.

Gun specifications
by Steven Haninger / December 28, 2012 4:21 AM PST
In reply to: No

Our laws here have mandatory minimum jail time for use of a gun in a crime. If you beat the convenience store clerk and rob the till, you'll get less time than if you show a gun.
