Thread preview

by bob b / February 17, 2012 6:11 AM PST

W7 sp1
FF 10.02
IE 9

If I go to a forum such as "hardware" I see a list of threads.

If I hover my mouse over a thread I get a preview of the thread.

The preview now shows as a rather large black box with white lettering.

The black box will shift on the screen depending on where I position the mouse pointer on the thread title.....sometimes semi off the screen.

This happens with FF or IE.

No I don't know when this could have been here for days/wks and I just woke up to "something is different".

Strange but I have never seen that effect before.

I have seen the post preview when I hover the mouse over it, but never seen how the box moves as a I move my mouse. And now I see the box extends off the edges of the screen right or left.

EH this Hardware thread;;contentBody

Post title "PC overheating and freezing during games". For information, this thread;

but it is the forum listing where the black box preview is.

When I hover my mouse of that thread in the listing, it displays to the left and half off screen.

I don't have a wide screen monitor but my resolution is 1280 x 1024 so I should be able to see it all.

Reporting this Bob, and thanks.

I think the preview is pulling in way more text that it's supposed to be pulling. We're looking into it.

At least the preview box does not go off the screen now.

Just curious......did the preview box always move left>right>left as you slide the mouse across a thread heading left>right>left?

Is it suppose to do that?

(NT) Yes, it's always been that way.

But I do think it would be nicer
by Steven Haninger / February 21, 2012 8:54 PM PST

if the box only came up when contact was made with the title text rather than its right side boundary so that diagonal movement in the direction of a particular thread didn't pop up other previews along the way.
Just gettin' nit picky here. Happy

Light bulbs you shouldn't buy

There are plenty of dimmable LED light bulbs, but make sure you don't buy the ones that flicker when you dial them down.
