Text in Windows now bold.

by Oberon Prime / December 19, 2003 11:31 AM PST

The situation is this. I had my system lockup and upon rebooting it much of the text used in the various Windows interface elements is now bold.

Text in menus, icon text, the Word "Start" on the start menu, text on buttons. All of these text elements now appear as Bold text.

If I try to change them in Appearance settings they show as not bold initially and if I set that element to bold they do not show differently, nor do they change to normal text when i disable bold again.

I've also tried a System Restore to several days before this happened and it did not help. And finally I uninstalled and reinstalled my video drivers.

I'm completely out of ideas does anybody know how this happened and/or how it can be corrected?
