Question

Tablets and data plans...

by missourigrl / April 23, 2011 8:10 AM PDT

I'm thinking about getting a tablet. The one I'm interested in is wifi only right now. I've seen some that are wifi and available through Att, Verizon, etc. My question is do you have to have a separate data plan for these tabs? I have a data plan for my smartphone through ATT so if I get a tab that is available through ATT/wifi can I use my current data plan or do I have to purchase a separate one for the tab in order to use it through ATT?

If ATT can't answer this question, why consider them as a supplier?

I didn't mean buy a tablet through att. I meant if I get a tablet that can be used on 3g/wifi and I already have a data/internet plan with att for my phone can I use that same plan for the tablet or do I have to purchase a separate plan for the tablet.

I've taken an Apple iPhone on ATT's SIM CARD and put it into unlocked devices with ZERO problems. But be aware that then the iPhone is inoperative until I put the SIM CARD back into the phone.

NO ONE will guarantee this will work but I hope it helps you understand the issue better.
