Strange number "2" appears on my TV screen

by wannalearn / March 7, 2009 1:10 AM PST

Ref. Sony Bravia 46" digital LCD.

A mysterious numeral "2" in a 7 x 2 inch transparent box has begun to display in the upper right-hand corner of my TV. It's a nuisance and I can't get rid of it. HELP please.

You have a cable box from time warner or everest, right?

this is some stupid problem with thier box, just unplug box and plug it back in and let it reboot, and the problem should go away.

Do not call tbe cable company, they will tell you to turn off the box, and ask you if the number 2 is still on the screen, and as soon as you say yes, they will tell you its the TV set.
but you will find out that the number goes away as soon as you unplug the box from the wall or the back of the TV proveing that it is the cable box.

good luck
