Straight Talk
by Kattie55 / January 9, 2011 3:00 PM PST

I also had Verizon but paid too much with a 2 year contract. I switch a couple of weeks ago and can't believe the savings. At Walmart they have different cells to choose from and very economical. I purchased the $30 a month with 1000 min. talk/text, and 30mb of data. Straight Talk transferred my old cell number from Verizon to Straight Talk and on the same day, I just had to wait 20 min. for the process to be completed, with a big difference: I am paying alot less than with a contract company. Switch today and just give it a try.

just for reception
by Jeromedic / January 24, 2011 9:23 PM PST

me being tied to being on the cdma network has to a small extent made my life difficult, but invariably i found that even tough i had bad reception sometimes (in the wilds), it was a whole lot better than anybody around me. too many people blame the networks for their bad reception, but invariably it's also in the make-up of the phone. You get good phones, and bad ones. My favorite ST phone just for reception was (yes I got it replaced by something more expensive, and less able) the lg 290. if it's a good phone, to phone with you want, you won't be sorry. And it's helluva cheap.
