Question

stop web from putting program on my computor about virus

have people put program on my computor from the web
saying i have virus on my computor and can stop program or delete it have to wipe out drive and start over

what can i do about this

More information would/will be need to determine what, if anything, is going on. System information, OS and specifically a name or some nomenclature on the particular problem/issue.

Hi flhray,

You can try scanning the computer using updated AVG Rescue CD. It will remove known infection with ease as the infection or any rootkit won't be running (AVG Rescue CD runs on a live Linux OS).
If that won't help, please provide us with more information as mentioned by pgc3 above. Kindly include an msinfo output with your reply for basic overview of your system environment.
