Sony Walkman Z Series missing capacity???

by mgrwhite / April 23, 2013 2:46 PM PDT

Does anybody out there own a Z-series Walkman?

It's supposed to have a 16GB capacity (NWZ-Z1050B)
but when connected to the PC to transfer files it only
shows 12GB available.

Is this a common Walkman problem
or have Sony shortchanged us 4GB???

Sony Walkman Z Series capacity

In reply to: Not at all.

Thank you for clarifying this for me.
I fully understand the technical requirements of an OS requiring
space for system files etc, however i was surprised to learn
that it requires 4GB (more than some versions of Windows!!)

BTW, do you know if it's possible to upgrade the Android OS to the
newer version 4.0 (ICS)???

Change the OS?
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / April 25, 2013 10:08 AM PDT

I think that's for a forum like http://www.xda-developers.com/ where folk do such things. Yes, it's possible but I rarely do that as when I get a device like this, it's not to change the OS.
