Sony 3D TV

by speedbird2 / March 12, 2010 6:53 PM PST

I just viewed a Sony TV at the Sony Style store. The 3D was great but I noticed a flickering sensation after activating the 3D glasses. I got no such flickering while watching IMAX 3D films at the theatre. Why the flickering? After just 10 minutes, I started to get a slight headache. Please explain.

Sony 3D TV isn't ready

I checked out the Sony 3D demo when I pass by the Sydney Sony Store not long ago. I also see the flickering when wearing the 3D glasses, even though the sales person say there isn't any. Plus, I also see a shadow besides most objects, most notably in real-life shots, almost invisible in CG graphics. In my opinion, Sony's 3D technology still have a long way to go before it can be mass adopted. Either that or other company's 3D technology that don't need 3D glasses will take over.

Btw, Sony claim the 3D glasses runs at 100Hz. If it is true, I shouldn't see any flickering. I don't understand why...
