SMS/Text messages

Hello everyone!

I have this issue with 8820 I recently purchased. I am transferring data from 8700 to 8820, everything transferred over fine (the calender, the tasks, etc.), but my SMS/text messages. It seems like I am missing anywhere from 40-50 to 500 messages after the transfer. The rest of the data transferred perfectly with no loss or issues, just the SMS/text messages.

I tried doing on two different computers, used Desktop Manager 6 & 5 SP1 & just 5, no luck! Help!!! Please!!!

I just looked it at. That seem to me only for viewing your text messages on a PC, but there are plenty of tools for that. I have close to 27000 text messages I need to transfer, so that Word suggestion is great, but I'll be doing that non-stop for days, plus there are better tools for that. My issue is that after the backup is done successfully, it doesn't restore the text messages in full on a new blackberry.

You may want to post your question on the crackberry forum since it's much more active. Also, I wanted to be sure you had looked there and was not offering any solution.

I appreciate your help, those crackberry forums turned fruitless. No responses from those whatsoever! The best luck I ever had was on CNET forums!

While I have some BB background it's not very deep. Our company looked at porting apps to it over a year ago and I was one of those that looked so while I know a little, this is not where I can be of much use.

I would have to use google to see where there is an answer at the ready.

I've had some luck having google search that other forum.

Someone reminded me of this:

"BlackBerry Desktop Manager > Switch Device Wizard"

That's how I was able to transfer all the 3rd party software, calender, etc., but the SMS/Text messages, it cut them off...

Yeah, not hidden on either one. Thank you again!
