Small retail business inventory question

by jamie.p.walsh / January 2, 2006 12:21 AM PST

We are about to embark on an online business. My wife owns a small sleepwear, loungewear, bath and body boutique and would like to sell products on the internet. They have QuickBooks POS for their register at work and it handles their inventory.

With adding an online store, I would like your thoughts on how to handle inventory. Keep them separate or keep them in sync? We're talking a volume of about a few hundred (pieces not products).

Thoughts?

QuickBooks POS and Inventory
by www.SBITS.Biz / January 2, 2006 3:28 AM PST

I'd try to Put them all in one database (Inventory is a nightmare)

I'm just a consultant, and not an expert, but here's 2 cents and I hope this helps..

OK What ever Online Sales system you use make sure you can Export/Import data from them in Excel format

Most Ecommerce mechant stores have this ability, but check first if you can import data into your POS System.

They have 3.0 and I haven't been able to find that yet.
