Slingbox plugin on Smart TV browser

by prs117 / August 11, 2012 6:07 AM PDT

Hi. I can get the slingbox plugin from to download to the TV browser, but I can't enter my name and password. I've switched in and out of cursor mode on the remote to select the Email Address and/or Password fields on the Slingbox app login page, but I can't figure out how to enter any data on either field. Help - and Thanks.

Any Help?

prs117, were you able to get any help on the forums for your problem? I am seeing the same thing on my Samsung TV. The plugin seems to be working, I just can't enter my username/password into the textboxes.

Keep in mind that looks to be for a PC/Apple web browser.

The browser in today's TVs are a shadow of what you use on your PC. Since it's Slingbox's app, you'll have to ask them if they plan to bring this to the HDTV in question.

If you are unaware how to develop for the Samsung products, I'll supply a starting link ->

Again, the HDTV is not a PC. The web browser is nothing but a browser and can cause folk to think it would work like their Windows PC browser.

There is no native Slingbox app for Samsung TVs

at least not that I'm aware of, which is why I tried this supposedly "generic" flash-based app.

And Flash on these HDTVs is very limited.

Usually they get Youtube to work and maybe facebook but this leaves so much more that does not work.

Ask Sling if they are planing to get it working on these TVs.

Light bulbs you shouldn't buy

There are plenty of dimmable LED light bulbs, but make sure you don't buy the ones that flicker when you dial them down.
