Hi robertjohn527,

Yes, it's possible to set scheduled scan to do this. Go to http://www.avg.com/us-en/faq.num-5188 to edit your scheduled scan settings. Option to shutdown computer after scan is finished is under Settings >> Additional scan settings.

Let me know if this works for you.

Thanks.

Tried your suggestions more times than I can count. I called Tech Support and was told by Gino that the Free version only allows a scheduled scan once a week. I have not tested that because I would like my computer to scan at midnight and then shut down, every night. What do you think?

I have AVG Free too and I'm able to set scheduled scan to run every day at 0:00 with automatic shutdown. See these screenshots. I recommend upgrading to AVG 2013 if you don't have it yet.

Thanks, Jan

First, let me say I appreciate your help. I have the latest version of AVG 2013 and presently, I have edited the settings to scan every 24 hours and shut down when it's done. This seems to be working so, I'll stay with this for now.
