Samsung t459 Gravity - USB connection help

by epauli3 / March 4, 2009 2:56 AM PST

I have a Samsung t459 Gravity that I am trying to connect to my PC via USB.

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium.

I have installed the latest USB driver downloaded from Samsung.
I have installed the latest version of PC Studio 3 downloaded from Samsung.

I got the New Hardware found and installed messages the first time I connected but the computer it doesn't seem to find it. I don't see it in My Computer and when I start PC Studio 3 the phone is not connected and I am unable to connect to it via File->Connection->Connect. I opened device management and I do not see the Samsung driver. I only see what appear to be generic USB drivers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

How about...
by Pepe7 / March 4, 2009 3:23 AM PST

...using an external memory card reader to transfer files from the Phone to a PC?

You could also try running the software in (XP) compatibility mode. This sounds suspiciously like a Vista compatibility issue ;(.

I just went and got a memory card.

I'll do it that way.

A solution to your problem
by dakota803 / April 29, 2009 12:41 AM PDT

I also have a Samsung Gravity and I was having the same problem you were having. I started playing around with it and I went to Menu--settings--phone settings--USB mode--then switched it to modem. If you have all your drivers downloaded then this should work. It did for me.

Having The Same Problem!
by Ms_Loyal / December 17, 2009 11:16 AM PST

I am having the same problem! I've been using the phone as a modem for about a year when x-company stopped supporting it. without notice etc. (They came out with a USB laptop stick and want you to pay 49.99 a month.(Seperate Line). What?!?!!?

Anyhow after a week with going back and forth, They tell me that I can still use it but because they don't support it they can't help me with anything I basically have to research on my own!

I don't find too much either (especially with limited access.)

Anyhow I am still looking for a solution,(It's not the computer).

The last time I downloaded anything for the PC Studio 3 was abou a year ago. Is there something that I should update?Looking through the phone, settings I've tried everything! Nothing is working.

Any Luck what you did!

I'm at a loss!

At the moment, my screen is just white, so I was wondering, what number is the USB mode?
