Samsung t.v has blacked out after various problems. Help?

by Xortoth / March 28, 2013 9:14 PM PDT

I bought 2 Samsung T.Vs mid-late last year(PS64E8000GM) I only set up and use 1 of them currently, after a few months i started having problems with the t.v turning itself off, changing channel by itself, and also turning itself down, and up. Didn't really think much of it, just thought 'It's a big t.v, maybe it's getting hot' so whenever it started doing this, i would just turn it off, leave it for a while, turn it back on and it would be fine for a while again. More recently over the past few days it's been doing these things a lot, so i've mostly kept it off, trying to look for answers online about it and have come up short. I've just tried to turn it on now, and it turns on, and it registers me pushing buttons on the controller, but the screen is black, and no noise is coming from it.
I did read however, that some people have had similar problems to this, but with a different t.v. Something to do with the electronics inside? Does anyone know if there is a particular problem with this type of t.v, or even so how much it would get for a tech to come out and look at it?

Hi Xortoth,

Whenever something is power cycling on itself, it generally ends up needing to be repaired. So I would normally volunteer our support channels in the US, but this doesn't appear to be a US model. Also, I looked up your amended model code, and I couldn't find that as a valid code. So which country are you from in order that I could point you in the right direction?

Hit Dell with a few million dead PCs. The other TV makers Mits, Sony, Tosh to name a few got hit too.

You may want to get longer warranty folks,
