Question

Samsung Smart TVPN51E7000 Streaming Freezing

by yannisp3 / March 27, 2013 12:36 PM PDT

I bought this TV a couple of months ago and I did not have any problems while connected to the webtv player of TV stations. Lately, however, I connect but after a few minutes it freezes. It helped when I reinstaled the software and/or cleared the History and Bookmarks, but it soon developed the freezing problem again and clearing the history does not help anymore. Is there ant way to clear the cache? Is this a memory problem and, if so, how could I empty part of the memory? Any other suggestions. I will appreciate them. Thanks.

Hi yannisp3,

I'm sorry to hear about this. Could you clarify for me which app you're using to access this video? Are you using the browser app?

Thank you for your response. Yes, I use the browser and I am connecting to the player of Webtv stations. As I mentioned in my question, I did not have problems for a couple of months. Today, I did some cleaning of browsing history etc. but I came again up with the streaming freezing after about 15 minutes. I started all over again, and it froze after maybe 20 minutes. Incidentally, I was connecting to the player of the same stations with my previous Panasonic non-smart TV through my Sony internet player without such freezing problems.
Thank you again.

Hi yannisp3,

I apologize for the inconvenience. When you're using the browser, the TV caches the information from Flash. It appears that recently; the WebTV site you're visiting has changed how they stream information, and it's overwhelming the TV's limited cache. So unfortunately, there's nothing Samsung can do or you can do. Perhaps, you can contact the website and ask them if there's a mobile friendly version of their website. Generally, mobile friendly versions fair better on our TVs.

I appreciate your response. I doubt that I can resolve the problem as you suggested, but I will try different Web TV stations I have connected to in the past without problems and see if I will come up with the same problem. If so, I will assume that they cannot have changed their streeaming approach at the same time. I will keep you informed.
Thank you again.
