Question

Samsung Smart TV won't connect to router

by miesque1127 / September 17, 2013 9:05 PM PDT

Hooked up 3 days ago, connected to router just fine. Watched a Netflix show this afternoon.

Got home tonight and can't connect. All other devices connect to router, but not TV. Its a Samsung UN60F6300.

Network Status has MAC Address, everything else shows 0 (IP Address, Subnet Mask, etc..)

I enter the password and I get network connection failed. Where do I go from here??

Anything you can provide.

I like to check router make, model, firmware versions, settings and more. I have some posts in the CNET Networking forum for those that feel that revealing such detail may breach their privacy.

Connection Info
by miesque1127 / September 18, 2013 4:08 AM PDT

Bob,
What specifically do you need to know?

HD TECH,
I have a Netgear router from ATT. It is a router/modem combo, just one unit. IT is a Netgear model, ADSL2+. It has WPS.

My router is located in the other room, I can't connect it wired.

Where do I find the firmware for the tv??

Thanks for any help.

WPS is a way to provide some auto-connection

It does fail a lot. Try rebooting the router, wait for it to settle in and then try the WPS button connection again.

I rebooted the router and that did the trick. Connection is fine now.
