Question

SAMSUNG RV510 LAPTOP JUST STOPPED WORKING

by Sunshine_Sue / April 23, 2013 5:21 AM PDT

I was working on the above laptop and it just stopped working. Nothing... No blue light, screen black completely dead. I checked wire to plug all ok, green light on power pack flickers but goes solid when unplugged from laptop. Plug into laptop and green light flickers on and off. Battery was fully charged at time of stopping as the laptop had been plugged into power supply the duration I'd been working on it.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Was this a 1 time thing? Did it reboot OK?
by wpgwpg / April 23, 2013 5:38 AM PDT

What have you tried? Can you reboot? Have you tried powering off and back on? Do you have an up to date antivirus program? Are you behind a firewall? What version of Windows are you running. I'm sorry, but my dog broke my crystal ball. Mischief

It's dead... Nada, zilch... How can you reboot a laptop that isnt working... The power line is working, but the laptop isn't... Antivirus was up to date... No firewall... Windows vista... I've given you all the info... Tell your dog to play with his own ball... Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit... Ha! Sad

Took to laptop shop

He said the connector that holds the plug to the laptop was loose, would either need new connector or may be soldered back. He's letting me know tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Happy

Goggle "laptop jack repair" and discover a small industry on this usually under 100 buck repair. If a client wants it done it's pretty cheap but if they want a warranty I triple the repair price since I may have to replace the main board instead of the jack. Some clients understand this, the newer ones that are seeking more coverage than just the jack are usually off to find another shop.
