Samsung LED UN46C6300 - Lip Sync Issue

Just bought the latest and greatest Samsung LED and have been tinkering for a week or two. The LED picture is awesome and I am extremely pleased with the video. The audio , on the other hand is horrendous. So, move the Pioneer VSX-515 AV Reciver from downstairs to upstairs, hook it all up, sound is now great - except the lip sync is now horrendous. It's almost unbelievable - nearly 2 grand in a television that I cannot stand to watch.

Setup is Dish Network Reciever Audio out into Pioneer reciever audio in using optical cable. Dish Network Reciever video out into Samsung using HDMI 1.3 cable. (Pioneer does not have HDMI in)

Any suggestions here. Thoroughly disgusted at this point.

lcnagel,

Many receivers have an audio delay option for just this very reason. Does your receiver have the ability to delay the audio?

Are you using an optical cable or analog, and does it make a difference from one or another?

Currently using Optical Audio cable (which was purchased to try and resolve this issue). Started out with the RCA cables and there doesn't appear to be any difference in issue resolution between the two.

Pioneer VSX-515 does not have audio delay feature.

I was hoping for something along the lines of firmware upgrade on LED that might resolve issue as I see that many people have same type of issue.

I would have never thought that all this great new technology would have so many bugs in it.

The firmware update is worth trying, and you can download that here:

If the issue persists, then it may be an internal issue. In which case, you could always have a technician come and inspect or repair your unit under warranty. If you're interested in setting that up, you can reach Samsung at 800-SAMSUNG.
