Which is? Here's the short short version. Because HDMI mandates HDCP any device that is capable of rendering sound (your HDTV) must only pass STEREO with a fine exception for OTA (over the air.)
How to fix that? Send the HDMI to the HT and then use HDMI from the HT to the HDTV.
I apologize for using so many TLA and FLAs. (two, three and four letter acronyms.)
I have a 55in Samsung LED TV (UN55C8000XF) and a HT-D4500 Blu Ray Surround Sound system. I have my tv hooked up to the HT-D4500 via optical cable, but surround sound speakers do not work. If I hook up my HT-D4500 directly to my dish network box then it does, however If I turn on my xbox360 I do not have sound for that. Anyone that can help? Thanks!
