As to free memory on card.

Android is not like Windows here. It's the new Windows so we get to know the new issues. The update should work without the memory card so it's likely some low memory in the phone. If that fails then take it up with the carrier support.

Just take it to the nearest store and they would update it for you.

Depends on phone memory

The update which is done on Samsung Galaxy Ace requires phone's internal memory and not the memory on the memory card. If you take your phone to the service center then it will surely get your phone's software updated but you will lose all your data like messages, contacts, notes, app installed in phone's internal memory etc. So, my suggestion will be to clean-up some phone memory and update your phone.

Took phone to VM shop, they no help & suggested Kies or phoning support line.

Have tried Kies again tonight and initialy after some 5 mins connected but then shut down mid 1st backup, Kies says wants to update but did this about 6 months ago with old phone and then Kies said didnt support my phone. not happy with kies at all.

Have deleted some apps that on phone itself that have never used plus 1 will try get back & update done, 30.14mb size update, then a 4.26mb update, now got gingerbread,xxmd1 but had goped to get above gingerbread.
