While my vote is to return products that claim to do ARC but don't I continue to install optical and other audio cables when it must work. My brother who does this work is more diplomatic about it and is paid by the hour to listen and nod a lot. But in the end he installs the audio cables and bills them accordingly. The longer they talk may add time to the bill so you can see how good this is for those that support such things.
So i recently upgraded my home theater and am having trouble with the ARC and the receiver with the PS4. The HDMIs are all plugged in right. PS4 to receiver, receiver to TV. The receiver recognizes the TV fine, i have audio and everything. My problem right now is what source should the tv be on in order use the PS4? If i use HDMI2 which is the receiver to ARC, I get a blue screen. I can hear the PS4, i just can't see it. If i get lucky when I turn everything on, I see the PS4 in the large preview on the hub. I can select it and it works. But that's only if i get lucky. I can't find how to get to the PS4 through the hub. So i change source to HDMI2 input and blue screen. All my settings are correct with the TV and receiver. Thanks.
