Samsung 40" LED TV - No Video

by manojdomyan / May 8, 2011 10:57 AM PDT

I own Samsung - 40" LED TV (Model Number: UN40C5000QFXZA) and bought it just one month ago. Today, when i switched it on, there was no picture regardless. Nothing, just a faint light on the
screen, however the sound is working. Even TV MENU is not displaying on screen and when i change source a little light goes on the screen, that's it. I have created a service request with Samsung.

Does anybody come across similar problem? I am thinking to return the TV since it is only one month and have little time to return it? What is forum suggestions ?

Have you tried resetting the cable/sat box by unplugging it?

I have the same problem with my LNT4665F. No video, audio ok. It is 3 years old and trash.
I saw on another web site that the T-conn card needs to be replaced. I need to find the number for that part. The part is $100. "It takes an hour to replace it yourself."

<div>If it was brand new I would take it back. When my TV was new I had dead pixels and the whole board had to be changed. That took 6 weeks to repair. They kept on having to come back because the TV was still broken. The repair shop was not near by. I should have gotten a new TV then. It worked fine for 3yrs. but now I have no video. I will never buy a Samsung TV again. That is a lot of money for only 3 years of use.
A repairman will be here next Tues. I'll let you know what he finds. It will cost $99 for diagnostics.

Take it Back

If it's a month old , then take it back and demand a new TV and don't agree to it being repaid. If you agree to a repair, then all your rights go out of the window. Get a New TV, and nothing less.

I had my 47" Samsung TV fixed today. The Power board was replaced and now it is working.
The repairman said, oh, a Samsung...I know what's wrong with it. Apparently, this is a common problem. Cost $180.00.
