Resolution Is Off On Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C-A07US

by Rafa816 / December 28, 2012 8:31 AM PST

For some reason, a lot of times when I pull up a program (Chrome, iTunes, etc.), it doesn't fit on screen correctly. Then I minimize the program and pull it back up, or refresh a page, etc. it fixes it. How can I make it where I don't need to do that? Do I need to change the resolution settings or is there some other way to fix it?

Also, another problem is that my monitor a lot of times dims and gets bright again (back to its setting that I put it at) at random. I have it set not to dim until it isn't used for an hour, but it still will randomly do it even as I'm typing or moving the mouse around. I'm not really sure what's causing that either.

Hello Rafa816,

I can answer the second problem. I believe the series 9 has a light sensor which adjusts the brightness of the keyboard and screen according to your ambient light levels. This can be turned off in the intel graphics settings. Some laptops have a function key that switches auto brightness off and on also.

Thank you! That fixed the problem! I still need help with the first problem though.

Also, I need help with Google Chrome. A lot of times, Chrome opens a page in an odd format, as if it didn't correctly load it, and then when I refresh it, it's formatted correctly. I tried launching it in Windows 8 Mode and that didn't help. Is this strictly a Chrome problem, or is it something wrong with how Chrome interacts with the computer?
