Removing Delta Search Engine Parasite

by celticscorpio / April 13, 2013 8:16 AM PDT

Hello, I unintentually installed Delta Search Engine on my Browser(Firefox), have uninstalled all related programs from my system ( I think), reset homepage to original. My homepage is back to normal, but all tabs are still Delta. How do I completely get rid of this search engine parasite ? Will removing firefox from my programs, and reinstalling Firefox, solve the problem ?

Yes, I went to my add ons window, and uninstalled any add ons that may have been coupled with Delta ( I think, from what I know of Delta, they couple with many services). This one has me baffled

I don't. Asking the purveyor of adware for help in removing it is like giving the fox permission to enter the hen house.

Most probably you will not find Delta Search Engine hijacker in the list of Add/Remove programs of the Control Panel. And, I assume, you didn't install it initially. The think is that this browser-redirecting hijacker is often installed through certain trojan horses that are bundled with some other software you attempt to install. What I can recommend you to do is to follow some manual steps and procedures, because even running some anti-virus program in this case might not even help you completely. Make sure that you first check your LAN settings. Also, it is important to check if there's no any Delta Search toolbar in the list of Add-ons of your browser.
