I am using a 320gb Verbatim portable HDD drive ON MY ES6800 ,(same TV as your ES6710 I think). I bought it from Rymans the high street stationers here in the UK. On offer at £39 at the moment. Works brilliantly for both recording and the "Timeshift" feature.
I live in UK and have just bought the Samsung UE32ES6710 Smart TV. So far it is brilliant.
I want, however, to record directly from TV to an external device - which I think it can do - but when I plugged in a 32gb USB flash drive, it said the device was not good enough. Not fast enough (write speed)? I need a USB HDD.
I have been looking at hard drives on Amazon, but none seem to specify that they can be used with a Smart TV.
Ideally I want it as small as possible to 'stick' on the back of the TV and I want it to be USB powered, to avoid extra wires.
I saw this which looks ideal - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bipra-200GB-External-Portable-Software/dp/B00518DML0/ref=sr_1_8?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1361098160&sr=1-8 - but am I looking at the right sort of product?
Any help appreciated!!
