Question

ran system recovery on vista--can't reinstall word. says I

need vista service pack 1. Having trouble installing sp1.
Any suggestions?

Just one: Tell us more about what problems you're having installing Vista SP1 (and SP2 immediately after that).

How? I looked over both posts in that thread, and I don't see anything that explains why this OP would be having problems installing SP1; unless you're trying to make the erroneous argument that because support has ended for Vista SP1 that means the update will no longer install or will no longer be available.

that the first time I reloaded Vista, I didn't know that MS wasn't supporting SP1 and couldn't proceed any further with downloading other items until it was installed. After reading Carol's post I found where to download it and than proceeded downloading everything else just fine. Sorry if I messed up...Digger
