problems with pixela imagemixer

by sheepdoggal / March 18, 2008 6:05 AM PDT

I have a panasonic SDR-H18 palmcorder. I love the camera so far, but have run into a problem with the imagemixer. It worked fine for about 4 months, then for some reason a few weeks ago when I tried to capture some video from the camera (the hard drive) the imagemixer locked up and gave me a message that the program had stopped working...I uninstalled and reinstalled imagemixer...got updates on it...I called tech support (several times ;-( ) they suggested I uninstall Studio 11 and Roxio... as they might be causing the conflict...still nothing...I'm getting very frustrated as I am unable to load any videos on to my computer now. Is Imgagemixer the only program that I can use? if not what other programs are compatable with this unit? or does anybody have any clue as to how I can get this ding dang thing to work again;-) I would be most appreciative of any help at all! Thanks,

Betty

similar problem with ImageMixer 3SE ver 6, Canon Vixia HFM-3
by agcruise285 / June 25, 2011 10:11 AM PDT

This software came with my Canon Vivia HFM301. I had the same problem with the software locking up when I tried to use the video file management & edit function. Uninstall-reinstall-restart did not fix it. I called the support line (US/800-459-4029) and got a tech on the line right away. He was very familiar with the problem, and he had me uninstall any and all codecs I had installed (Vista: control panel, progams and features). I had two: K-Lite codec pack , and XP codec pack. This immediately fixed the problem. Apparently this software cannot coexist with installed add on codecs. Unfortunately for me these codecs are necessary for other programs I use, so I guess I will have to re-install them later. As far as I can tell this software is necessary if you wish to off load video from this camera which sucks because this software is not too friendly.
