I wonder if this message was written by a Pricemad sales rep. The other threads regarding the PDP 505MX clearly state that Pioneer offers NO warranty on this model whatsoever. Also, it seems that dealing with Pricemad was a complete disaster. The past message contradicts everything else that has been written in this forum.
I did my reseach, I went to the Ken Cranes of the world, visited showrooms.
After much time and discusions with many of the so-called experts. What is came down to was quality and price and this TV my friends, has it all.
It is a far supperior TV to the Pro 1130 or the 5060.
You really have to see them side by side to realize the difference. Cleaner, brighter and sharper picture.
I decided to contact Pioneer directly and see what they had to say. Their conclusion was that the 505MX does have a bit more to offer including a better contrast, the glass in front is far supperior and less reflective. The issue of warranty was important in to say that regardless where you buy the 505MX from, Pioneer will stand behind it with a one year warranty. Not so with some others. I finally bought it from a Company called Pricemad. No better or worst than some internet places I have bought from in the past, although I must say that they were very pleasant to deal with and of course the price was right. It looks even better on wall then it did in the store I saw it in which was Ken Cranes one of the only stores I found to carry it in stock but about $1800 more than I paid for it.
I hope that my experience will come to help some who have not had the time to spend on the research.
