Post was locked

Why was my post locked? I put the same post in both Vista and XP since some earlier repairs by Dell may have replaced XP with Vista and I can't access computer yet.

If you don't get replies then it's fine but to cross post results in duplication of efforts and confusion as folk don't get to see what replies have been made.
