Popup is bugging me!

by Coryphaeus / December 1, 2012 3:55 AM PST

Just got a Levono T61 (refurbed from Levono) ThinkPad running W7 Pro. After a power up, reboot, or at random I get a popup from Intel Hybrid Graphics. It blocks everything underneath, and says "Increase performance". There is also an icon in the Tray that will invoke this. But I cannot get rid of the icon or the popup.

Any thoughts?

The popup goes away after about 30 seconds. But nothing I left click or right click will remove it.

Standing by for the answer.

Assume you looked at start up to see if you might be able to shut it off, I'll bet you already tried that. Does it show in registry? Again, I'll bet you already tried to go that route....hmmmm, turning my thinking cap around the other way. Geez, it must be some kind of Intel add on but you would think you'd be able to defeat it.

I'm still learning W7. I got this laptop because it was a good price and I'm sitting in on a Comp TIA A+ class to get up to speed to teach it. And I needed a W7 machine.

Anyway, that first link had the exact answer on the second page of that forum. I'd looked at services but hadn't found out what was driving that app.

Thanks Bob.
