Pop up ads in Firefox

by nickschindler9 / January 2, 2014 1:22 AM PST

HELP...I keep getting advertisement pop ups in my browser and in websites like Amazon. The pop up says "DEALS" and then lists 4 ads for the product I'm searching for on 4 other sites (like Oriental Trading and Overstock). I read all the forums I could and followed all their advice but am still having the issue. This includes: (1) installed the Firefox add on "Adblock Plus"; (2) installed Malwarebytes and cleaned computer; and (3) went through Control Panel and uninstalled all programs I didn't recognize but perhaps I missed one (I'm not good on computers). THANKS!!!

I much appreciate the advice and I added the filter. Please forgive my continued ignorance but I don't know how to access the add-ons, so are you able to instruct me how to open the adblockplus so I can un-check "Allow Acceptable Ads"? Thank you so much!

Open FF.

Tools>add-ons>Abp options>filter preferences.

I see a check box at the bottom of the screen.
