PN58C8000 picture "too real"

by thorin21 / February 9, 2011 11:14 AM PST

Just bought the TV and I have to say for blu-ray, sports etc, it is awesome.

However, watching HDTV I find that our favourite programs look too real... i.e. they look like actors on sets... what settings can I use to tone it down a bit?

I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your PN58C8000.

Try adjustingeither the Film Mode or the Motion Judder Cancel feature. To do this, with remote press the following:

Menu > Picture > Picture Options > Film Mode
Menu > Picture > Picture Options > Motion Judder Canceller

Changing these two options should give you the ability to view a picture that's not "too real", since changing these two options will adjust movement to provide a clear picture.

I wouldn't describe this as an "issue" exactly, I just wanted to calm down the picture a bit... which has been partially successful using your advice. I switched off both completely.

At least now it's not glaringly obvious that I'm watching actors on a set!
