There are two library folders in Mac OS X, the one in your Home folder and the other at the root of the hard drive.
The one you need is the one at the root of the hard drive.
Navigate there and to the Internet Plugins folder and you should see a whole bunch of plug-ins.
Preview is the default PDF viewer in OS X but Adobe Reader can also be used. However, this sometimes causes a problem with the two plugins.
I have disabled the Adobe plugin in Safari and use Preview to view PDF documents on the Web. I still have the choice of using Adobe reader for downloaded PDF documents.
I am trying to access a .pdf document in safari and I am getting an error saying that the plugin is missing. I have just uninstalled a trial of Acrobat Pro XI and replaced it with Adobe Reader X.
When I look in the plugins list in the help section of safari I can see a whole list of plugins, including the Adobe Acrobat plug in for web browers.
When I go into the Internet Plug-Ins folder in library to remove this plugin nothing appears in the list. All I get is a blank list with no plugins showing.
Can someone please help me find the plugins list.
