PHONE FOR 95 YR OLD VISUALLY IMPARED

by pattygriff / March 4, 2007 8:10 AM PST

Hi,
I am looking for a phone for my mother-in-law, who is 95 yrs young, but "legally" blind. She needs something that is easy to use. Any suggestions? I have heard that there are phones available in Asia that are designed with the visually impaired. We have cingular, with no contract, but we have a good plan and can add another line.
Thanks

Thanks,
I looked at it, unfortunately it wasn't designed with the visually handicapped in mind, but rather people that don't want a cell phone or are not interested in any current technology. My mother-in-law just can't see...her mind is sharp and she is willing and able to learn new things. I do appreciate the thoughtful comment

when the iPhone launched, one of the first things that came to mind was how apple has chosen to ignore a large consumer base.

Is there any section 508 compliance for FCC regulated devices?
