No make or model so a guess that the BIOS is set to wake the machine at some time each morning. Without a link to the machine's manual I can't be exact in how to change it to not do that.

That gives me a place to start. It is a Dell P4 with XP OS. I'm going by what my friend told me. I did check the windows tasks in control panel but did not see it in there and was at a loss as to where to start.

Thanks again!

So you checked Windows Sceduled Tasks? If there are tasks there see which ones you don't need to run and disable them. Another solution would be every time it starts up just press the power button to switch it off, then later you can check the status of the tasks and see which one(s) were interrupted.
Hope this helps,

Alan

In reply to: Hi petersilva,

I did see 3 tasks, but none that run early in the morning. I will do just that.

Thanks again for the advice.
