Pandora: no sound on PN50B650

by jpradley / April 20, 2010 4:20 AM PDT

I've updated the firmware on my PN50B650 HDTV. Pandora is odd, I get various sorts of choices of my Radio Stations, Quick Mix, I even get a screen with a title of something that is playing, but at no time does a peep ever come out of my speakers.

You Tube clips do play properly (though some of them take many minutes to load).

jpradley,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble.

Have you linked it to a Pandora account?

Sure, I created an account from a computer, and access from the PC works fine. Access works from the TV too, since it shows me the for "radio stations" I created, but: soundless,

Mine is doing this just for my external speakers. Is there a way to tweak the setting so it will run to my regular audio?

When I have Pandora running, I hear the TV program running on my external speakers with the music playing on my TV speakers.

shawnnewman,

That's a different symptom than I'm used to hearing. Could it be that the Pandora is playing through the TV speakers, and the cable/sat box is connected to the external speakers? Or is it all connected directly to the TV?

Meanwhile I, the original poster, still have the problem: I have a Pandora account, I can connect to it on the TV, see the personal stations I've created, but I cannot get a sound at all. No external speakers involved, and the TV is otherwise fine.

It's my understanding that Pandora is a Feature and not a connected device, therefore you will only get sound through the TV speakers.

Same Problem. No sound through external speakers w/ Pandora.

I hope u found the solution. The Pandora will play through the built-in television speakers while the cable plays though the external speakers at the same time. Please let me know how to fix this problem. I would like to have Pandora play through my surround sound when launched and the Cable sound to stop. Thanks.
