Outlook 2002 - attachments not showing

by Potnah / July 23, 2004 12:12 AM PDT

In my emails I often get attachments.
I always have to go into double-click hell to view the attachments. Where is the switch to turn this off so my attachments show when I open the email?

Re: Outlook 2002 - did you just switch from Express?

Outlook 2002 doesn't do that trick of showing pictures that were attachments. It's a common lament from those that switched.

Potnah, This Should Help
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / July 23, 2004 5:56 AM PDT

By default, Outlook 2002 blocks a variety of "dangerous" attachment file types, including .exe, .bat, etc.. If you really need to view the dangerous file types, then Microsoft has created a Knowledgebase article which a registry edit that will allow you to view them. Click on the link below to read about the issue:

OL2002: You Cannot Open Attachments

Hope this helps.
