I had to Google to find out who he was

Four question marks in your subject make it look like you're more worked up over this than anyone ought to be. I'm sure any of us could search and come up with equally absurd suggestions from both sides of the aisle.

The reason I said listen carefully
by TONI H / January 2, 2013 11:40 PM PST

is because he is almost quoting BO word for word during his first campaign when he said something to the effect of "how much money do you need once you get to a million"........the handwriting was on the wall then, and it is still the same attitude among his 'type'....except for friends like Buffett and Immelt who will never have enough, but they never get criticized by BO.

You're really reaching, Toni
by Josh K / January 2, 2013 11:51 PM PST

Show me where Obama ever said, suggested, inferred or even joked about taxing billionaires at 100%.

You're giving this a lot more attention and credibility than it deserves.

I'm not saying that BO said he would do that
by TONI H / January 3, 2013 12:06 AM PST

so you're the one that's reaching, Josh. I'm telling what he actually DID say during his first campaign when he was talking about spreading the wealth because he believes that nobody who has over a million doesn't need it so they shouldn't have a problem with having some of it taken from them.......as if he has the authority to determine who needs or wants want.

John McCain is also on record....
by Josh K / January 3, 2013 12:15 AM PST

.....saying he thought those at the highest levels should kick in a little more. Lots of people on BOTH sides believe that.

Trying to tie this radio guy in with Obama is the reach, Toni.

BO doesn't want just a 'little more'
by TONI H / January 3, 2013 1:10 AM PST

and you know it.......he just got the tax hike he insisted on rather than the loophole revenue that Boehner offered the day after the election, and now we know why. As soon as the vote was done, he went on the airwaves and now says that he's looking for MORE in the way of closing those same loopholes. He couldn't accept Boehner's offer because otherwise he would have never gotten the tax hikes, Josh. He's a greedy pig who hates capitalism.

Right, he hates capitalism
by Josh K / January 3, 2013 1:14 AM PST

Along with America and Christianity. Oh, and freedom. I almost forgot how he hates freedom.

Over and out.

what he wants to do........ and you seem to be perfectly okay with that. In addition, the CBO has just reported that it is no longer the top 1% who will be paying 40% of all taxes.....it's now the top .7%...........thank you, BO.

And YOU said

"almost quoting BO word for word"

BO is Obama isn't he?..the guy "being almost quoted"?....

The guy almost quotes Obama word for word...and they're NOT saying the same thing?

almost?...word for word?...Pretty close to the same position?...That's my take.

How bout you...why use those terms?

Your escape route, Hobbit Hole?

"Almost" being not at all
by Josh K / January 3, 2013 4:33 AM PST

Toni, if it was "almost" word-for-word then Obama must have said something remarkably similar to this proposal to confiscate 100% of all earnings over a billion dollars. I'd like to see it.

YOU took that leap of taking 100%, Josh, not me
by TONI H / January 3, 2013 4:37 AM PST

>>>is because he is almost quoting BO word for word during his first campaign when he said something to the effect of "how much money do you need once you get to a million">>>

It was obvious at that point that BO planned to take a large chunk, both in the case of tax RATES increasing as well as taking the loopholes away. It won't come to the 100% that the idiot wants taken, but BO has already got half of what he intends to take, and is now going to work on the second half.

When you have no respect for capitalism, you take whatever you feel you can get away with....ask France with their 75% that they just had handed back to them. Of course, France being France, they will just take that same bill, reword it, and eventually get it passed. BO can't get away with taking 100%, but he will take as much of it as he thinks he can get away with.

Oh, I see
by Josh K / January 3, 2013 4:56 AM PST

He and Obama are in lockstep because both men have said that when you have a certain amount of money, how much more do you really need. Well heck, I've said that too, but I don't think anyone should be taxed at 100% no matter how much they make.

so...if you don't want it taxed
by TONI H / January 3, 2013 6:34 AM PST
In reply to: Oh, I see

at 100%, tell me how much you DO think they should be taxed and allowed to keep since it's THEIR money and not the government's?

Collapse -
I'd like to see everyone taxed at 0%
by Josh K / January 3, 2013 10:22 PM PST

I'd like to keep all the money I make and I'm sure you would like that too. Let's stay focused on your claim that this radio guy was parroting the president though.

"Almost quoting" when someone said "something to the effect of" something isn't a stretch? LOL

Collapse -
Josh, the part that I
by TONI H / January 4, 2013 12:05 AM PST

stated was almost a quote was correct. I never said BO wanted to take 100% of it. I didn't stretch anything that I actually stated. Do you dispute that BO actually said what I paraphrased and do you dispute that this guy actually asked the same question regarding "how much do you need" when HE wanted anything above that amount redistributed to people like HIM who don't have that kind of money?

Collapse -
You didn't paraphrase anything
by Josh K / January 9, 2013 2:17 AM PST

Again, you tried to connect this radio guy's comments to something that Obama kinda sorta said "something to the effect" of (in your opinion). So yes, I dispute your rather creative attempt to link the radio host's crazy idea with the president.

And by the way, the president falls into the group whose tax cuts would expire under his own proposal.

If I was a billionaire in today's climate
by James Denison / January 3, 2013 12:55 AM PST
In reply to: Outlaw billionairs????

...of outrageous socialist envy, I'd convert much of it to gold and just store it, thereby removing the wealth from the economy, unlike when it's banked and lent at interest which helps the economy. These billionaires need to start thinking of how to remove their wealth so it can no longer be traced, hidden from all but them, and wait for this all to blow over.

Collapse -
Yes James. We know you're a "We had to destroy the village
by Ziks511 / January 3, 2013 1:18 AM PST

in order to save it" kinda guy. Socialists aren't envious. Socialists are the kind of people who open their homes to others, like all those people in Newfoundland who took in all the people from the flights re-directed away from the US on 9/11, or the Canadians who came down or sent aid to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, or all those electrical workers from Ontario and Quebec who came down to help after Sandy put the electrical system out of commission.

Anybody with half a brain can understand the concept of levelling the playing field, of taxing those with billions at a higher rate than those with thousands. Very little of this is real redistribution of wealth, it is merely putting the weight of government expenditure on those who can most easily bear it. It isn't destructive, and it is in line with 45 years of American history, until Ronnie Ray-gun and his Voodoo Economics (George H W Bush, that flaming socialist's words) kicked in and began to erode the stability of the American economy.

Grow a brain, or return to being a frog.

You think life is like bowling or golf, a game where "handicaps" are given out? Helping (GIVING) during an emergency, as conservatives did ALSO, (something you conveniently forget), is a lot different than TAKING. This is your whole problem when it comes to politics and economics, you can't tell the difference between GIVING and TAKING.

The problem with his 'thinking'
by TONI H / January 8, 2013 6:18 AM PST
In reply to: What he really said

is that HE is the one who decides at what 'point you've made enough money' and taxes at a higher rate and takes away tax credits once you've reached that level......so that he can use that money to spend on his own personal agenda and not yours. He treats other people's money as if it all belongs to him or the government, and takes away the incentive for those companies to 'keep on making more'.
