Question

Outdoor camcorder

by CameronPetersen / June 3, 2013 4:58 PM PDT

Hello everyone! I'm looking for a camcorder that best suits my needs. My budget is probably a maximum of $5,000. I need something compact and that I can travel with, also it has to be rugged and preferably rain resistant and shock resistant. I'm planning on doing a survival series in the woods by myself, along with a few gopros, I'll need a good camcorder with excellent sound, night vision, and image quality as my video may be widely viewed. I have my sights on the Sony HXR-NX70U NXCAM due to its rain resistant feature, but I want to keep an open mind and see if there's something better out there for me. If anyone has any opinions, let me know! Also, I previously watched the series "Naked and Marooned" on discovery, a documentary about a man living on an island by himself. The camcorder he mainly used looked like the one for me, but I can't find anything about it on the Internet! I'll try finding a pic later. Thank you everyone for the help!
