Online with dial-up and receive outside phone calls????

by Rob_Presto / September 2, 2010 5:27 AM PDT

I have dial-up internet at home. I would like to receive outside calls while I'm online. Is there a device I could connect to split one line into two?? I can't get "call-waiting" from my phone company. I'd like to have a peripheral device that connects to my external USB modem. I'm using a netbook with Windows XP. Please let me know any advice. Thanks!

Won't work . . .

You must have call waiting for it to work. You cannot split the line to receive calls, because there is only one line to the telephone central office.

Get another line?

Light bulbs you shouldn't buy

There are plenty of dimmable LED light bulbs, but make sure you don't buy the ones that flicker when you dial them down.
