Question

OK, iPhone and IOS7 . . .

by Coryphaeus / September 26, 2013 8:31 AM PDT

I have the 4GS. I've heard horror stories. Anyone having problems?

Is the fingerprint scanner mandatory?

If I upgrade I plan to back it up to iTunes. Can I restore it and have everything I had before the update? I have very little on the phone except a few apps and phone contacts. I have 10 Gig space available so I shouldn't have to delete anything for the update.

Thoughts?

...it's a 4S. There is no model '4GS' Wink

Why don't you back up to iCloud via wifi? If all you have are contacts, it's even more of a reason to avoid iTunes for backup purposes. 5GB is free storage using this method from Apple. Works like a charm, and you don't have to deal with the bloated goat software known as iTunes.

there occured somethin like "an error occured, the phone needs to be resetted to factory defaults." Oh man, I nearly went mad. But I resetted the iphone (have a 4S as well). However after that I could restore all the settings, contacts and whatever. So now everything is fine and I'm enjoying iOS7.

I had no problems with IOS 7 and my iPhone4S. Everything works as it should. I did back up to iCloud just in case.

I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 7 without any problems. Didn't back up to iCloud first and installed just fine.

Since the current OS suits my needs now, I'll wait.

Your iPhone 4GS don't have the senor on the home button, just the iPhone 5S have the Touch ID features, right now.

There is no 4GS, it is a 4S.
