Question

Norton Internet

by Sch29 / January 30, 2013 12:30 AM PST

Recently, every time I turn on my computer, I get a little pop-up in the lower right corner that says that my "Norton Internet" is not working. BUT I haven't had or used Norton in 5 or 6 years.
Have done a search for "Norton" "Norton Internet" and "Symantec" but can find nothing. It's not causing any problems, other than it's just annoying.
Can any of you suggest any remedy or cure for this?
Thank you

I'd go to the Symantec web site

I believe Symantec has uninstallers you can download from their web site to get rid of remnants of their software that maybe the uninstall didn't. You could also run MSCONFIG and look for anything in the Startup or Services tabs having to do with Norton or Symantec.

Good luck.

Did you try the Norton Removal Tool?

Google that and you should find it at symantac. Run that to remove the items you may have missed last time.
