Have a dead PC that I can't figure out.
Have a SX280 with no video at all. PC does start up, but nothing on screen, no BIOS, no POST, no beeps. It has a digital video card and monitor in the special slot (PCI Express?). Monitor powers on but stays amber. CPU fan goes on.
I swapped out both video card and monitor, problem stays with CPU as original video card and monitor work in known good PC.
I pull out video card and monitor and hook up a standard monitor to motherboard VGA port. CPU does run diagnostics from CD-ROM drive. Ran it overnight, 16 iterations, no problem found.
If RAM is bad, then diagnostics does not run. Only thing I can think of is problem with PCI Express slot.
